Hi All,

I passed PMI's PMP exam after four months of preparation. PMI shortlists profile based on roles and responsibilities, not only considers the designation. Thanks to PMI (Project Management Institute) for unifying the management related things across globe and across several industries.

While filling the application, make sure that you are including all the relevant experience. At first I thought to add only latest 3 years of experience. Later on my friend's suggestion included all the relevant experience.

FYI, I took class room training as well as practice questions from SimpliLearn. Thanks to the PMP groups for providing valuable information such as the preparation method, reference books, sites, groups, etc. I'm sharing my experience for the preparation of the exam.

Reference books:
    1) PMBOK 4th Edition
    2) Rita Mulcahy's Book, I studied 6th edition as I didn't get 7th edition which is latest. Please give first priority to study the latest edition.
    3) Head First PMP
    4) SimpliLearn's Course

Reference groups:
There are several groups are available, and I referred the following two groups frequently
    1) http://www.pm-best.com
    2) http://www.pmhub.net

Preparation Method:
It took almost four months for me to prepare. I studied 2,3 chapters at a time. Sometimes I didn't study for 10 days also. It depends on person to person whether to study regularly for 2-3 hours daily or not.

I studied the above mentioned books one time and later referred PMBOK once. Its up to your choice  how many times want to study or refer the books (based on time).

Practice tests/questions:
Practice sample tests/questions as much as possible. I did the sample tests mainly from SimpliLearn, Head First, Oliver Lehmann, etc. You can refer other groups/sites also. Make sure that you are practicing the questions based on the latest edition since in Internet we can find questions related to older editions.

(If possible) Refer for further readings to PMI. You have to be member to read these.

My Recommendations:
*** Its better to take any class room training from any REP (Registered Education Provider) like SimpliLearn ***
*** Practice questions (based on latest edition) as much as possible. ***

Take few breaks while taking the exam. All the best!!!
